Legacy verification and Meta Verified are different things

Meta Verified is a paid monthly subscription. Legacy verification is the blue badge that recognizes Pages and profiles of notable people, brands and organizations, and it is decided on notability.

  • Meta Verified is a separate product from notability-based verification
  • Legacy verification looks at public impact and credible press
  • Media recognition from reputable outlets is the main evidence
  • The Page or profile must represent a real, notable person, brand or entity
  • Meta reviews and decides each request on its own criteria

The two products exist for different purposes. If your goal is the notability-based badge, the strength of your press is what matters most, and that is the part we prepare.

What we handle

Four ways we support your verification

01

Verification Submission

You already have press. We review it, prepare the Facebook verification request, submit it and guide the account through the process.

  • Review of your existing press coverage
  • Request prepared and submitted for you
  • Guidance on the Page or profile itself
  • No access to your account needed
  • Existing press
  • Submission
  • 1 to 7 days

02

Verification From Scratch With PR

You have little or no press. We build authentic press coverage and your online presence first, then submit the request.

  • Press strategy built around your story
  • Authentic coverage from credible outlets
  • Online presence strengthened to support notability
  • Request submitted once the case is ready
  • PR
  • From scratch
  • 4 to 6 weeks

Page and Profile Verification

The notability approach applied to Facebook Pages and to personal profiles, with the right route chosen for each.

  • Facebook Page assessment
  • Personal profile assessment
  • Press and public-impact evidence prepared
  • Request submitted for the right account
  • Facebook Page
  • Profile
  • Meta

How it works

How Facebook Legacy Verification Works

  1. 01

    Eligibility Review

We look at your Page or profile and any existing press, assess notability honestly and tell you which route looks strongest.

  2. 02

    Press Review or Build

If you have press, we check its quality. If not, we build authentic coverage and your online presence from scratch.

  3. 03

    Request Preparation

We prepare the verification request with the press and public-impact evidence organized the way reviewers expect.

  4. 04

    Submission and Guidance

We submit the request and guide the account through any follow-up, without ever needing your password.

A submission with qualifying press typically takes 1 to 7 days to prepare and send. Building press from scratch typically takes 4 to 6 weeks first.

What we do, and what we do not do

What we do

  • Review your press for quality and relevance
  • Build authentic press coverage where there is none
  • Prepare and submit the request for you
  • Guide the account without needing access
  • Tell you honestly where your case stands

What we do not do

  • Ask for your password or any account access
  • Use fake documents or fabricated press
  • Claim control over Meta’s decision
  • Sell purchased or “insider” badges

Press quality

Why the quality of press matters

Legacy verification depends on the quality of press, not the volume. Reviewers look for credible evidence of public impact.

  • Credible Outlets

Coverage from reputable, established publications carries weight. Low-quality sites add little and can weaken a case.

  • Reputable Sources

Press must come from sites that are reputable and not low-quality or promotional sources, or it may not count at all.

  • Independent Recognition

Articles written independently about you or your brand show real media recognition rather than self-published claims.

  • Clear Public Impact

The press should show why the Page or profile is notable, so the case rests on evidence a reviewer can follow.

A few strong articles usually help more than many weak mentions, which is why we review quality before we submit.

Typical scenarios

Situations we handle

01

Executive with existing press

An executive has been featured in several business publications but has never applied for verification on Facebook.

→ We review the coverage, select the strongest pieces and prepare and submit the request.

Our goal: A complete, well-supported request submitted for Meta’s review

02

Business Page with no press

An established business has customers and followers on its Facebook Page but no independent media coverage.

→ We build authentic press and online presence over several weeks, then submit.

Our goal: A notability case built on credible coverage before submission

03

Request rejected before

A public figure applied alone for a profile badge and was turned down without a clear reason.

→ We review the earlier request against the press, fill the gaps and prepare a stronger resubmission.

Our goal: A stronger case prepared, with the decision left to Meta

FAQ

Facebook legacy verification questions

Is Meta Verified the same as legacy verification on Facebook?

No. Meta Verified is a paid monthly subscription that Meta offers as a separate product. Legacy verification is based on notability: Meta looks at whether a Page or profile represents a real public figure, brand or entity with a public impact that credible press and media recognition can show. We work on the notability-based route, and Meta decides every request.

Do you need access to my Page or profile?

No. We never ask for your password or any login details. For a submission we work from your public Page or profile, your press and the information you share with us, and we guide you on the account side without needing to sign in as you.

How long does it take?

When you already have qualifying press, preparing and submitting the request typically takes 1 to 7 days. When we build the press and online presence from scratch first, it typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. Meta’s own review time is outside our control and can vary.

What press qualifies?

Coverage from credible, reputable outlets that are not low-quality, paid-listing or promotional sites, written independently and about you or your brand. Legacy verification depends on the quality of press, not the volume. A few strong articles help more than many weak mentions, and we review what you have before anything is submitted.

What if verification is not achieved?

Our refund policy is that if verification is not achieved, you receive a full refund plus additional high-tier press coverage at no cost. Because Meta makes the decision, we describe this as our policy and not as a promised result, and we confirm the terms in writing before we start.

Can you verify both a Page and a personal profile?

Yes. We prepare requests for Facebook Pages and for personal profiles. The notability case is built on the same press and public-impact evidence, and we tell you honestly which of the two has the stronger case before we begin.

Can a rejected request be resubmitted?

Often yes. We read the response, compare it with your press and Page or profile, and work out what was weak or missing. If a stronger case can be built, for example with better coverage, we prepare a new request. We do not send repeated identical requests, because that does not improve the odds.

Who decides whether a Page or profile is verified?

Meta decides. We cannot influence or control its decision. What we do is prepare the strongest, most accurate case we can, using authentic press and a clear showing of notability, and submit it correctly.

What if I have no press at all?

Then we build it. We plan and secure authentic press coverage and strengthen your wider online presence, which usually takes 4 to 6 weeks, and then we submit the verification request. We never fabricate articles or use fake outlets.

Do you also handle Instagram?

Yes. We also prepare notability-based requests for Instagram accounts. See our Instagram Legacy Verification service for the details, and tell us if you would like both platforms reviewed together.
